AYOOOO!!! 2018 HELLO AND WELCOME!
Can you believe it? It’s here!
I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little tired of all the indulgent holiday food. I mean, I LOVE it and wouldn’t have it any other way, but there comes a time when a girl just needs a break from sugar, butter, and fat.
Easier said than done.
I feel like I’m a little addicted to all those sugary and fatty foods right now. I find myself craving salt, not drinking enough water, and overall just feeling a little blah.
Enter: My Green Refresh Smoothie
This is my go-to smoothie when I’m trying to reset my tastebuds and get them to remember that healthy, natural food is delicious! It’s hard to circle back to eating more fruits and veggies (pie form and creamed spinach does not count) once you’ve spent a few months in hibernation eating mode, so this smoothie helps me get back on track. I like to think of it as a little bit of a reset button that I can drink in the morning and start my day off right! It’s so easy (just throw things in the blender and you’re off) and super filing for a smoothie thanks to the kale and fruit!
While I used dairy milk (1%) you can easily sub in almond milk or just plain water if that’s your preference.
- 1½ cups frozen pineapple
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup chopped baby kale
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh mint
- juice from half a lime
- ½-2/3 cup liquid (milk, almond milk, water, etc)
- Blend together the pineapple, frozen banana, chopped kale, mint, lime juice, and liquid of choice (I used nonfat milk).
- Pour into a cup and enjoy!
