Let’s get boozy up in here!
Christmas is getting closer and closer and I think that alone is enough reason to celebrate with some festive alcohol, am I right?
It’s funny how I actually feel like I drink more now that I’m out of college. I was not a huge partier (too busy studying… boring haha), even though I went to one of the “biggest party schools” in California. Now that I’m self-employed and work from home most days, I find myself pouring a glass or wine or making myself a cocktail at least a couple of times a week. Nothing fancy, mind you, I couldn’t tell the difference between a $4 bottle of wine and $400 bottle. Not sophisticated, but I love relaxing with dinner and a drink!
Today’s recipe combines holiday flavors and whisky for a comforting drink that will warm you right up! You can either make a heated version or keep it as a cold drink. It’s super easy to make and is perfect to serve at your holiday parties, or just to mix up yourself when you’re at home with your cats (aka me). This Spiced Apple Cider Toddy is just the coziest drink and perfect for sipping in front of the Christmas tree.
And best of all? Only 4 ingredients! It doesn’t get any better than that.
- 2 cups apple cider
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 slice lemon (thin)
- ¾ cup whiskey
- Combine the apple cider, cinnamon sticks, and lemon slice in a small saucepan and bring to a simmer. Stir in the whiskey and garnish with extra cinnamon sticks if you're feeling festive.
- *Cold version: just mix together all the ingredients and serve over ice!
