Hey hey hey, friends! How are all of you doing? I’m popping in today with another Thinking Out Loud! Head on over to Amanda’s blog if you want to know more about what they are all about :).
Let’s jump right into it.
Valentine’s Day was a fun excuse for Kyle and I to get a little more dressed up and go to one of our favorite restaurants, The Lobster, for an early dinner! We had the dreamiest window seat and got to watch the sun set beyond the background of the Santa Monica Pier and beach :).
I always tend to order the same thing from The Lobster since it’s so dang good and we only go here a few times a year. Do any of you do that? It’s like, yes, I want to be adventurous and try something new, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. It’s a good problem to have!
We started off with freshly baked bread, a big calamari plate, and a glass of Chardonnay.
Kyle and I both ended up ordering the New York steak, but I subbed out my french fries for mashed potatoes. We usually try to order different things since we’re both such foodies and usually end up trading plates halfway through our meal, but the potato dish was the only swap we were willing to make. Our meals were delicious, like always, and we finished the night feeling stuffed! Unfortunately, the early dinner also meant we were riiiiight on time for LA traffic and we ended up spending most of our date night in the car. It was a great night overall, though!
WE SIGNED THE LEASE FOR OUR FIRST APARTMENT TOGETHER!
Ohhh my gosh you guys. I’m so excited about this. We’ve been searching for apartments for the last few months and found the PERFECT one that’s just everything we could want. Great location that’s 15 minutes from our homes and 20 minutes from SpaceX. The complex recently changed ownership and all the units are undergoing complete remodeling and so we will be the first people living in it! The apartment is beautiful with brand new appliances and the prettiest floors, gets great light, and we snagged a corner unit with two bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. The area we live in + the surrounding areas are pretty expensive (life in SoCal for ya), so we were so surprised that it was within our budget to get a TWO bedroom (one of which we’re going to use as a home office for me), 930 square foot apartment.
HAPPY DANCE! We toured it the day after finding it and applied for it the night after we saw it. So in love and so excited! We are moving in in early April and I’m beyond excited. WHEEE.
Okay, okay. A better title for this section would probably read “Less-Rainy Weather” since I know that my version of “cold” is probably something most people would scoff at, but just go with me on this one. Lately California has been so gloomy, rainy, and just overall yucky. It’s a good thing, really, since all the rain is taking us out of this 4 year record breaking drought, but I’ve really been appreciating the break we’ve been getting these last few days of uninterrupted sunshine!
It was so beautiful and warm out that I left my work space to take a few minutes to just sit outside and soak up some Vitamin D.
And that’s all I got for you guys!
See you guys soon for a tasty recipe!
